Worked out well

I bought this over Christmas to install in my Accord. It worked out great. The Garmin navigation speaks for itself, theres no use reviewing it other than it is perfect, fast, and accurate.
I also setup the Sirius satellite radio extension. It should be noted that both the gps and Sirius antennas will work when wired through your air vents and secured to your dashboard so that they can see up through your windshield. Neither (as the Sirius one will claim) needs to be installed on the exterior of the vehicle. NOTE: those of you with after-market car tinting, make sure the tinting film is not metallic, it will inter fer with your signal.
Gounding the brake detection wire will disable the parking brake requirement to play any sort of video, which is required by law in most (if not all) states.
Startup time on a 60 degree day is about 10 seconds. Those of you interested in changing the stock start-up image from the basic blue and white Kenwood stuff, need a special convert file from Kenwood.
Lucky for you, I've indexed it in torrents, and rapidshare for everyone's use. Included in this zip file is a text file with instructions, and the convert file that you need for the unit. You will also need a USB drive (and more importantly, access to the USB port, keep this in mind before you install).

Well I bought this in August on this site and I have been pretty pleased with my purchase to this point.
PROS
-Spot on navigation (very responsive)
-Excellent sound quality
-Touch screen is nice
-Easy to bypass to watch videos all the time
-Aesthetically pleasing
-IPOD control is quick and flawless
-DVD playback is smooth
-Good price for the features
CONS
-Navigation voice can be a little mouthy (Ok Ok I'm turning dang) This can be remedied by turning her off and still having a warning beep.
-Screen could be a little brighter for DVD viewing
-Sat radio should be cheaper and easier to hook up
-Remote with this many features needs backlighting
All in all im very pleased. I think I may get the backup camera in the near future. Be sure to get all the options you want or otherwise you will have to remove the radio each time something is added

GPS..on spot...Sirius..clear as a bell...FM..a little weak....DVD...perfect.....blue tooth/phone...still figuring it out..a few bugs, but works.....Ipod..works perfect with video/sound...That's it! |

| I have to say the Dnx 7120 is a nice peice of equipment for the price. It took me about 2 months of compairing different double din nav systes to finally find the right one!I have had this unit now for a yr and other then the fact it sometimes the digital voice telling you which way to turn starts acting up its a great system. But i fixed that problem with the new firmware update from Garmin. For all those people who think the DNX 7120 doesnt have a SD card reader built into it im here to tell you yes it does!Just hold down the eject button that lowers the screen for a few seconds longer and wha la there it is right under the disc insert slot.So if you have an SD card just make a folder on it that says "Garmin" place your update in there and then insirt it into your system and turn it to the nav screen. It will start the automatic update of your firmware. Its that simple! It works the same way with the new map data as well. But the new 2009 maps arent worth getting not unless you want the updated 200 more roads and 2000 more POI's on your system. But all in all i love this system and it sounds wonderful with my cars BOSE sound system. |
Love It

| Does everything it says it will. Love that it is very customizeable. Bought a 4th Gen iPod Nano for $100 and now I have music, music videos, TV shows, and movies at my fingertips. I did a lot of research and chose this above all of the other comparable models from other brands. Garmin Nav is also great. |
